Corn Roast - 2001

The Corn Roast is our longest-running annual event and was once again proven to be one of our most popular events with 57 members in attendance. No one in attendance knew how long this event has been held, but our current chief corn-husker and chef, Don Hohman, will be passing on the duties to a new cornmeister next year after 14 years of serving up some of the best tasting corn this side of the Mississippi.

Our Cornmeister and wife, Don & Rita. Great job to you both! Don at the corn kettle and Ed (behind the smoke) flippin' the burgers. Filling 57 bellies with corn and burgers made for a long day behind the grills.
Good Food - Good Friends - Good Weather! It's just doesn't get any better than this!
"Hey, save some of that corn and burgers for me!" Here's one way to keep little brother under control. No more corn for you, Neale!
Hey, guys, you've got butter drippin' off your elbows! Here we have Akron Power Squadron's own Jackson 5, or is it 6?
"Hey, Tom, you are discussing APS membership with your friends, right?" The guys discussing the strategy of their next raid on the corn kettle.
Rose: "Allyson, I am so stuffed, I can't get up. Would you go get me another burger and corn?" What it's all about: "The Spread, the burgers and, of course, the CORN!"
